Completed in 2023, Britannia Beach House 02 was designed for a small family seeking refuge in the mountains while remaining deeply connected to the surrounding landscape. Perched on the steep slopes above Howe Sound, the home is carefully tucked into the hillside, stretching horizontally across the site to capture panoramic views of the water far below.

Expansive glazing on both sides allows light to filter through and creates a continuous visual connection to the forest and ocean beyond. A generous deck and outdoor barbecue area extend the living space outward, while a dedicated spa zone offers moments of retreat and restoration.

The material palette is simple and restrained—standing seam metal cladding, concrete floors, and crisp white cabinetry form a calm, minimal backdrop for daily life. Together, these elements create a home that feels both grounded and elevated—a quiet refuge shaped by its dramatic setting.
